Scion FR-S Concept

Toyota subsidiary in the United States, Scion display their concept sports car debut, FR-S in the arena of the New York Auto Show 2011. Yup, this one concept car is a twin of the Toyota Hachi Roku, aka FT-86 II mendebut Concept at the Geneva Motor Show 2011, in March last.

FR-S name itself is taken from the term "front-engine, rear-wheel-drive sport" aka front engine, rear drive. The term is taken from the engine-drive configuration predecessor, the Toyota Corolla AE 86, which is still widely used in the arena drifting.

Although both have a chassis that was developed with Subaru, but the appearance of FR-S feels more sporty than its twin from Japan's. No wonder, because according to Jack Hollis, Scion vice president, FR-S was developed from the DNA of Toyota's legendary sports car, like the 2000 GT and Corolla AE 86.

This was thanks to the use of sharp pointed LED headlamp. In addition, sporty style comes from the front bumper which is supported by the use section grooved grating a large cooler. Oiya, FR-S also did not implement many LED lights, which create a twin FT-86 II feels weird.

Design nan sporty coupe silhouette feels thicker than the side FR-S. This is thanks to the application of a low roof, and the body that feels solid to the body behind. In fact, with a sporty appearance, making FR-S dubbed a mini version of the Lexus LF-A.
